Free Shipping Orders
Not all products are eligible for free shipping. Items that qualify will be clearly marked on their product page.
Our free shipping program applies to standard residential and business addresses across Canada. It covers most Canadian addresses, but includes a shipping cost limit, which varies by product and brand.
Please note that some rural, remote, or hard-to-access locations outside standard shipping routes may have shipping costs above this limit and will incur additional charges. If any surcharges apply, we will notify you before processing your order. At that point, you may choose to proceed, modify your order, or cancel for a full refund.
Shipping Methods
- Small Parcel Orders: Shipped via Canada Post, Purolator, FedEx, UPS, or similar carriers. Only Canada Post can deliver to a PO Box, and will also be used for all Yukon, NT, and NU shipments unless another courier is selected at checkout with a paid shipping option.
- Large or Palletized Orders: Items such as wood stoves, appliances, batteries, and solar panels ship via reputable LTL (Less-Than-Truckload) carriers. Residential liftgate service and delivery appointments are included. All LTL shipments are "Curbside Delivery." Please see details below.
Order Processing & Delivery
- Processing Time: Orders typically ship within 1–5 business days after payment confirmation. Larger or seasonal items may take longer. Please allow extra processing time after major promotions and holidays.
- Delivery Time: Transit times vary by carrier and destination. Exact delivery dates cannot be guaranteed.
- Tracking: Tracking details will be emailed once available. Please check your spam/junk folder if you do not see our confirmation.
Curbside Freight Delivery
For large items shipped via LTL:
- Appointment Scheduling: Once your order arrives at the local terminal, the carrier will reach out to schedule your delivery. Appointments are typically available on weekdays during regular business hours. Please note that delivery appointments may require short notice—sometimes just 24 to 48 hours. If delivery cannot be completed within that timeframe, storage fees will apply and are the customer's responsibility.
- Delivery: Orders are delivered curbside only to the edge of your driveway. Drivers are not authorized to move items beyond the driveway due to policy and insurance purposes. Curbside delivery does not include any installation, assembly, removal of packaging materials, or transporting items within your home.
- Inspection: Before signing, inspect all items for damage or missing parts. Note any issues on the delivery receipt and take photos. You may refuse delivery if damage is significant. Please contact The Cabin Depot as soon as possible to report any delivery issues or damages. See details below regarding damaged goods.
Damaged or Missing Items
Damage en route is a potential issue for all shipments. Please note your options below when dealing with damage and missing products.
- Cosmetic or Superficial Damage: Note on the delivery receipt, take photos, and contact us immediately. Parts, paint, or other compensation may be available for damage that does not affect the unit's operation.
- Severe Damage & Refusal: If damage is severe, write “ORDER REFUSED DUE TO DAMAGE” on the paperwork, notify us, and tell the delivery driver you refuse the delivery.
- Concealed Damage: Must be reported within 24 hours of delivery with photos. Claims filed after this period are typically denied.
- Missing Items: Any items from your order that are missing should be noted on the delivery paperwork. Please take a photo of the items you received and contact The Cabin Depot as soon as possible for us to investigate.
Important Notes
We inspect all orders before shipping to ensure accuracy and condition. If you sign the delivery paperwork without noting damage or missing items, carriers will deny claims, and liability may fall to the customer.
