Most propane tankless water heaters are tested to perform optimally below 2000 feet above sea-level. This is due to the fact that oxygen levels start to decrease after this height.
As a general rule of thumb, for every 1000 feet above the recommended maximum of 2000 feet, you reduce your accessible BTUs by 4%. Please review the example in the chart below.
