IntegraRack EarthBallast™ Mounting Kit
The EarthBallast™ Mounting System is an engineered, zero-penetration solution ideal for off-grid sites with available soil or crushed rock. By utilizing a structural "trampoline effect," the system generates massive downforce using tight-pulled geotextile fabric epoxied directly to the BallastRack™ frames. This modular approach allows for rapid installation using common heavy equipment like tractors or skid-steers, delivering industrial-grade stability with a clean, natural aesthetic.
Mechanics of Downforce
The EarthBallast™ system relies on a minimum 2" air gap between the ground and the epoxied fabric. When soil or rock is placed atop the material, the resulting tension creates a continuous holding force across the structural base tubes. This design eliminates the need for concrete footings or post-pounding, even in high-wind regions.
PRO TIP: Use white crushed rock or light-colored sand to maximize bifacial solar gain from the reflected light beneath the array!
