I had these as a child from my Grandma and was happy to find these to share with my grandchildren. They are very useful when traveling or camping.

First of all I want to thank Cabin Depot for being fair to the customer with their price unlike every other dealer on the internet. Cabin Depot was selling the replacement fuel tablets for this stove below the Manufacturer’s Suggested Retail Price that was listed on Coghlans site. I saw some retailers asking $18 CAD for 24 Coghlans fuel tablets when you can buy this stove with the 24 tablets for $8.99. Coghlans really is a great middle of the road Canadian company providing camping goods that the average person can afford and Cabin Depot is passing these savings along to the customer. Thank you. The stove can be more than an “emergency” stove. It’s very small to pack. I put a piece of tinfoil on one side to block the wind if need be. I’ve found that you can bring 8 oz of water almost to a boil (good enough for one cup of coffee) with one fuel tab at -5 Celsius with no wind. I’m sure that it would come to a complete boil once summer arrives and the temperature rises. If you need longer for soup or two cups of coffee you will need at least two tabs. I would suggest stacking one tab on top of another rather than laying them side by side. Great product.

These matches work great for high wind or in high humidity and Cabin Depot offers these at a fair price. I use regular matches when conditions are good so that I don’t waste them. I purchased two containers and found on both that I couldn’t turn the cap on all the way and it wouldn’t seal. It wouldn’t catch the threads. For some strange reason there are three plastic knobs below the threads that prevent the cap from screwing down. I shaved them off with a utility knife even with the body of the container and now the cap screws down the way it should.
