The first elbow angles the chimney run away from framing obstructions, while the second returns the stack to true vertical alignment. Filled with 1 ½" of solid high-density ceramic wool insulation between double 304 stainless steel walls, it maintains hot flue gas temperatures to prevent cold-hearth sluggish drafting while keeping exterior temperatures code-compliant.
